Hotel alminar is a small hotel of only twelve rooms ( fully equipped and truly charming ) which is placed in a quiet pedestrian street in the very centre of seville, just 50 metres away from the cathedral and its minaret ( alminar ), la giralda. Alminar is the ideal spot for those who wish to visit all the monuments and cultural centres of the city without having to take any transport at all as everything is at hands reach from the hotel.

Alminar is a new hotel, opened in March 2.005 in one of Seville´s most classical buildings: the one that for more than half a century belonged to Foronda, the leading company in Spain for hand-made bright silk shawls and Flamenco dresses.

The building has been restored to be adapted to the particular necessities of a small hotel of only 12 rooms in which attention to detail is a priority in order to offer the guests a cozy space in the very heart of Seville, just 50 metres from the Cathedral and its minaret ( or alminar ), the Giralda, true symbol of the capital of Andalucía.

Room information

The bedrooms are spacious and are fully equipped. Even though the position of the hotel is very central, the street where is located is a quiet one so your peaceful rest is more than guaranteed.

Area information

Hotel Alminar has a most central position. Only 30 metres far you find the famous Casa Robles, maybe the best known restaurant in Seville. Around, some of the best restaurants and Tapas Bars in the city.

The Santa Cruz district ( old Jewish Quarter ) lies only 5 minutes walk from the hotel and offers the true flavour of the old Seville with its narrow and winding streets, its gardens, patios and squares with orange-trees. There the visitor can approach the Flamenco dancing and singing at Los Gallos, Plaza de Sta. Cruz, 27. Also interesting are La Carbonería and El Tamboril with live music on week-ends.

For those who love relaxation in an exceptional setting, the Arab Baths ( Aire de Sevilla ) offer their services only 5 minutes walk from the hotel.

Also nearby, the Arenal district, gives the visitor a different scope of the city with its streets facing the River Guadalquivir and its world-famous Bullring, La Plaza de Toros de La Real Maestranza de Caballerías de Sevilla. Another good Flamenco show at El Arenal, Calle Rodo, 7.

The shopping is also easy from the hotel. Both the traditional shops of the historical centre or Calle Sierpes and the newly developed commercial streets like Tetuán or O´Donnell where Zara, Mango, H&M and the type are placed.

Travel information

The address is calle Álvarez Quintero, 52, very near the Cathedral, as explained above, so you need to follow directions to the city centre ( Centro -Ciudad- ).

The most recommendable thing is to get to Alminar by taxi as the hotel is in a pedestrian street of the city centre. There are taxis at the Airport which charge approximately 24 euros for the trip to the centre and also at the Main Train Station of Santa Justa ( around 5 euros ).

There is also a bus transfer from the Airport to the city centre ( 2,50 euros ) which leaves the clients at Puerta de Jerez, just 8 minutes walk from the hotel. This one picks up clients from the train station, as well.

If you arrive by car, the best option is leaving your car either at the Plaza Nueva Public Parking ( 5 minutes walk from the hotel but, generally, busier ) or at the Puerta de Jerez - Avenida de Roma Public Parking ( 8 minutes from the hotel, generally easier to get a space ).
